How to Submit Abstracts

In order to submit a paper to SMiRT-23, you must first submit an abstract which must be accepted by the International Scientific Committee.

How to Submit an Abstract:

1) You must create a SMiRT23 account and identify yourself as an Author. You can create an account using the login tool here.
PLEASE NOTE – co-Authors must also set up an account and register as an Author, otherwise they cannot be tagged as a co-author when you submit your abstract.

2) Draft your abstract using the SMiRT23 template which can be downloaded using the link below

3) When you have created your account, log into your account and upload your abstract via the ‘My Abstracts’ tool – you can tag any co-authors who have set up a SMiRT 23 account

4) Please note that each Author can submit up to five abstracts

Guidance for Submitting Abstracts

Abstracts can be submitted from 14th March 2014; the closing deadline is 31st December 2014.

Acceptance of your paper will very much depend on the quality of the abstract you submit. Those of you familiar with previous SMiRT conferences, please note that there will not be a book of printed abstracts. For SMiRT-23 abstracts will be a maximum of 250 words. Download the template here.

Please be aware that, in the process of reviewing the abstracts, the committee will take account of:

  • Scientific significance
  • Quality
  • Clarity

To check to see if your abstract has been approved, go to Dashboard and then My Abstracts and check the status column. It should read “Approved”.
